Tim is a civil servant, and therefore talks about himself in the third person (just like Julius Caesar). He currently works for the Police IT Organisation, an offshoot of the Home Office, as an analyst/programmer on a certain large mainframe based in Hendon.
He has been reading science fiction since he was about 5, and is currently planning to take over much of SF fandom (another trait shared with JC?!) and relocate it to Jersey. He has been going to the 'Tun meetings since 1975, and has been running conventions since 1984. He chaired the first major British con to be held in the Channel Islands (Contrivance, in 1989), as well as the 1993 Eastercon (Helicon), which was also a Eurocon, and was treasurer of Smofcon 10 and Helicon 2. He used to be a co-chair of Intersection, the Glasgow in '95 Worldcon, and is an elected member of the World Science Fiction Society's Mark Protection Committee.
He got married to Marcia, a native of Tennessee, in August 1997. They live in Coveney with their seven cats, one dog, and a budgie.
He plans to go sailing again Real Soon Now.
